Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

Hours are published for 2 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 AM–11 PM. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Grandpa's Brick Oven Pizza at (212) 304-1185; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around New York is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Been going here for over 10 years. Pizza is great and the restaurant is very clean and nice looking. Only downside is recently I have been charged for money but not gotten any pizza. even after calling they said it was time to close and no more food was available even though it was only 8:00.

This wasn't incredible, but it served its purpose. I came here with two of my chums this past Saturday during the Great Saunter (32-mile walk around Manhattan). Grandpa's was literally a few steps off the official route down Isham Street, so we took a much-needed detour to rest our hindpaws for a bit. Our requirements were pretty simple - chairs to sit down in, food to consume, and we wanted to make sure it was casual enough where we weren't dependent on unpredictable waiter/table service that could keep us there longer than we intended (which happened to me last year down the street at this same event). Check, check and check. Grandpa's is a pretty standard by-the-slice pizza joint, with a very small seating area near the counter, but also a larger, slightly more formal dining section in the adjoining room. We considered going in there, which probably would have been more comfortable, but honestly? After 16 miles of walking, the first chair you see looks pretty great. We were all loaded down with some scrumptious protein-heavy snacks, so at least for me, I just went with one slice. Honestly, most of the slices didn't look very appetizing - lot of rubbery cheese and chunky sauces

Came in after a confusing phone experience, and I’m SO glad I did. The owners were incredibly kind, welcoming, and truly care about their customers. They went above and beyond to make things right and even made me a fresh salmon pizza which IS absolutely delicious. You can really feel the warmth of a family-run spot here. Great service, great energy, and amazing food. This is the kind of place you want to support. Highly recommend,I’ll definitely continue to come back for the amazing pizza!

The veggie slice is delicious, satisfying & with less cheese perfect for me. Its loaded w veggies including broccoli, olives, tomatoed & green pepper....and more. I ate it so quick i don't know what all the veggies are in it.. Love their crust... has right amount of chewyness, thinness, soft and crisp. Fyi its a speciality slice & costs a bit more. They also have margarita pizza with basil or what looks like pesto & other kinds... and they have stromboli, pasta dishes & zeppole. Very nice & helpful staff.. place is clean & bright. I'll be back. Thanks! .

The pizza and pasta here are both delicious. The pizza is crispy and flavorful, and the pasta dishes are also very goodβ€”we’ve tried the lasagna, chicken parm, and penne alla vodka, and they’ve all been tasty. My only downside is the portion size for the price. The pizza slices are very thin and on the smaller side (larger than Domino’s but smaller than a classic NYC slice). At $4.75 per slice, I usually need at least 2–3 slices to feel full. A small pizza with two extra toppings on half the pie comes out to about $27 when ordering through their website. To give an idea of the size, it’s comparable to a Domino’s medium pizza, but because it’s much thinner and the slices are smaller (about the size of my hand), it isn’t as filling. Overall, I do feel they overcharge for what you actually get in terms of portion size. Another thing I miss is that the pasta used to come in both small and large portions, but now there’s only one size, which is a bit inconvenient. That said, the customer service is good. I only go here when I’m really craving a crispy slice of pizza, but I always have to factor in the cost relative to the portion size.
